Wonderful articles. I do as much as I can for the family and to support Tara. A lot has changed over the years except for the love I have for her. I dont mind the doing the work around the house that she cant, or paying Dr bills because I know God has a plan for me or my children. I am the one with mild OCD and need to have a clean house all the time so I should clean it anyway. I have to set the example for my children because my life's test may be for them and not me. People seem to think that God gives you trials to prepare you fore something else but it may be preparing someone else. I love my wife and will do what ever it takes, in sickness and in health meant something when it was said in all our wedding vows. God said that the way was narrow but it is also filled with pot holes. The hardest thing for me is my family not understanding what we have to do. My mother and sister are health care providers and they do not understand at all. God does however and that is all that matters.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading about your wife for Rest Ministries. I have to tell you, I'm in tears actually. You speak about her in such a loving tone, it's heartwarming. I have a wonderful, God-fearing husband that cares for me as well because I have Lupus, Fibro and IC. I am going to forward your information on to my husband. I know it's hard to be ill but I know it can be just as hard to watch someone you love suffer. Knowing that we have such an amazing spouse certainly lightens the load! Thanks!

Matt,

Thank you for writing those articles for Rest Ministries. I read them this morning and they encouraged me to renew my passion for my wife, who also struggles with chronic illness. We've been married 16+ years and she has had illness for about 13 of those years. It started with acute preeclampsia at the birth of our 2nd child and progressed through stages of CFIDS to what is now fully developed lupus, RA and other conditions, each one making her more disabled and in more pain.

God has blessed us tremendously in the middle of a lot of suffering. My wife, "Super" Angie (I borrowed the "Super" from your Super Rachel), has developed a burning passion to share Christ with people and was led of God to write a book to encourage the chronically ill and to lead them to Christ - she also does online missionary work with Global Media Outreach. GMO allows her to share the gospel from her laptop computer.

We understand and empathize with POTS because she has failed tilt table tests repeatedly and has low blood pressure issues from the beginning.

Thank you again for sharing the story and especially your drive to support her - that comes directly from God. We also have a website to provide encouragement to the ill and their caregivers. It is at www.be-encouragedonline.com - I'm developing a replacement at be-encouraged.weebly.com. Oh, by the way, I'm a "mad scientist" too. I've been in the software field since my sophomore year of college and have worked for a major software company for 21 years.

was a good laugh there.. doesn't matter into what a child is born, whether they will be abused, murdered raped or just plain thrown into the dumpster after they're born because the mom couldn't get an abortion..it only matters that they are born right? and people think abortion is sick...and pro-lifers make me sick.

I work on the Threads team at LifeWay. Threads, an initiative to help churches reach the young adult generation, is a result of the research Ed Stetzer spoke about at Catalyst and posted on the blog. Jason Hayes, co author with Stetzer for Lost and Found (the book about the research), is the Threads Ministry Specialist. If you're interested, check us out at threadsmedia.com where you can connect with Jason directly if you have questions about the research.
